Search Grady County Court Docket

The summons, citation, or filing receipt names the court, and that court is where a Grady County search begins. Superior, State, Juvenile, Magistrate, Probate, and municipal matters in Grady County, Georgia do not share one public screen. Online routes help. Some require an account, and a calendar is not the full case record. Filings, settings, orders, and an outcome appear when one is entered, and the right clerk in Cairo remains the sound source for a current setting, filed document, or certified copy after a Grady County court docket search finds the case.

Grady County Icon Docket Limits

The Icon system exists, and its login page proves it. But a login page is not a result page. The VIEWONLY entry in the user field is real. No public password or search controls come with it. Never guess credentials. A refused login tells you nothing about whether a Grady County court docket exists. It only means the screen wants an account you do not have.

The clerk's calendar endpoint has also returned a database architecture error. That error is not a cancellation, a dismissal, or an empty docket. Try the official address once. Then call Kaylee Page's office at (229) 377-2912. You can also check the circuit calendar for a published Superior Court setting.

Court Dockets: What They Show

Think of a Grady County court docket as a timeline in one case file. Entries can include a complaint, a motion, an order, a setting, a continuance, a judgment, a plea, or a disposition. The paper behind each entry is its own record. A calendar sits further back still. It may show one planned block without every party, filing, or event.

Grady County has no anonymous result row to study. Do not trust invented column names or codes. Official calendars, Georgia's uniform citation, the retention schedule, and records confirmed by the clerk give the reliable picture.

Case numberThe court identifier, distinct from a citation number or NCIC code.
PartiesThe names or case style, subject to access limits.
Docket entriesDated filings, settings, orders, and events.
SettingA planned hearing, pretrial, trial, or remote event.
Court and judgeThe court class and assigned judicial office.
DispositionThe official outcome or status, which must not be guessed from a code.

Grady County Court Docket Terms

Calendar labels can look final when they only mark a scheduled event. A hearing date is a plan, not a result. Read each term in context and check the newest notice the court issued.

Setting
A scheduled hearing, pretrial, or trial.
Term
A court period used to group calendar work, not one case date.
Pretrial
A setting before trial for status, motions, or preparation.
Bench trial
A trial category heard without a jury.
Reset
A move to another date, not a dismissal.

Say pending, dismissed, judgment entered, or transferred only when the official record carries that exact label. Grady County publishes no local code key. Match your wording to the clerk's wording.

Grady County Courts and Their Dockets

Grady County runs several courts, and none of them share one merged docket. Superior Court holds general jurisdiction and felony cases. State Court takes misdemeanors, traffic, and civil matters outside Superior Court's reach. Magistrate hears qualifying small civil claims and handles several warrant functions. Probate, Juvenile, Cairo Municipal, and Whigham Recorder's Court sit apart as well. Each keeps its own records under separate rules.

Juvenile files come with stricter access limits. Federal cases follow a different map entirely. They sit with the Middle District of Georgia's Albany Division and PACER, not the county portal.

Grady County Docket Office Routes

One building houses many functions, so know which counter you need before you drive over. The Grady County Courthouse sits at 250 North Broad Street, Cairo, GA 39828, and keeps Monday through Friday hours from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. There is no single universal docket window inside. Magistrate lists a different address, 24 3rd Avenue N.E., so confirm the right office first.

The official courts page gathers the main courthouse contacts in one place, and it is the page to check for each court's current phone and staffing.

Court Dates and Settings in Grady County

For Superior Court settings, the South Georgia Judicial Circuit index is the clearest public source. It splits civil, criminal, pretrial, trial, habeas, and WebEx items into separate calendars. The March 2026 Grady calendar listed 9 a.m. courthouse blocks. It also carried hearings, criminal pretrials, trial periods, a grand-jury range, a civil bench-trial day, and remote labels.

A calendar block is not a case register. Pick the newest Grady PDF and read the county, term, date, time, venue, and setting together. Compare that against the case notice. City traffic, Magistrate, Probate, and Juvenile matters may never appear there. For the full date workflow, see the Grady County court schedule.

Grady County Calendar Versus Docket

A calendar and a docket answer different questions. The calendar says when court work is planned. The docket says what was recorded in a case. A name left off the calendar does not mean the case ended. A PDF can be replaced. A judge may keep a private list, a date can move, or the matter may belong to another court entirely.

The official calendar source sorts its postings into categories. These include civil hearing day, criminal hearing day, civil pretrial, criminal pretrial, civil and criminal trial, habeas, grand-jury, and WebEx. Choose Grady County and the newest relevant term. The category narrows your hunt for a setting block, but confirm the individual date with the notice or the keeper.

One more wrinkle deserves note. Since September 1, 2025, the circuit has reported no designated reporter for monthly civil hearing dates. Anyone needing a verbatim record must confirm arrangements in advance. Calendar, docket, and transcript are three distinct things.

Docket Access Under Georgia Law

Public access does not put every Grady County court docket document online. Georgia rules allow redaction or sealing, and juvenile files travel a separate route. A missing image might be restricted, unposted, held elsewhere, or locked behind an account. Ask the keeper which reason applies.

Key access rules:

Uniform Superior Court Rule 21 governs limits on file access.

Rule 21.6 and O.C.G.A. 9-11-7.1 address redacted filings and protected material.

O.C.G.A. 15-11-58 guidance describes juvenile access.

O.C.G.A. 15-5-112 provides a judicial personal-information restriction process.

Georgia's Open Records Act guide covers government administrative records, but it never replaces court-specific rules.

Grady County Restricted Docket Clues

A public Grady County docket can be thin on purpose. You may see a setting, a case number, a redacted filing, or a judgment. The protected text stays out of view. Juvenile records, sealed filings, protected identifiers, some protective-order facts, and grand-jury material all face limits. So a missing result proves nothing.

Before assuming a record does not exist, ask why it might be held back. The item could be sealed, redacted, juvenile, not imaged, sitting in an older system, or kept by a different office. A clerk can tell you the filing route. But a clerk cannot pick a legal strategy for you.

How the Clerk Keeps Docket Records

Kaylee Page serves as Clerk of Superior, State, and Juvenile Courts in Grady County. The staff page lists separate Superior and State civil assignments along with State criminal ones. So name the record type when you call. The forms index is not a copy-order form. The office also publishes no general certified-copy fee schedule.

Say exactly what you need: a docket printout, pleading, order, judgment, certified copy, or transcript. Give the court and the exact case number. Then confirm public status, current charges, delivery, and timing.

The official State Court page posts its own contact details for that court.

That separate number matters. When a question concerns a setting, State Court may handle it rather than the general Clerk request route.

Grady County Magistrate Docket Facts

Magistrate Court handles civil claims up to a $15,000 statutory ceiling. Its docket also covers dispossessory actions, garnishment, trover, foreclosure of personal property, subpoenas, and warrant functions. The official page supplies forms and lists the charges the court may impose.

The amounts apply to named Magistrate items, not every county filing or copy.

ItemDisplayed charge
Statement of Claim, dispossessory, foreclosure, garnishment, or trover$99
Writ of Fieri Facias$29
Subpoena sheriff service$5 each
Listed abandoned-vehicle certified copy$14

Confirm the current amount and service need before filing.

Grady County Probate Record Route

Probate Court in Grady County keeps records for wills, estates, guardianships, conservatorships, marriage licenses, weapons carry licenses, and other listed services. It is separate from the ordinary Superior or State civil docket. The office sits at the courthouse, and its phone number is (229) 377-4621. The page notes that license applications stop after 4:30 p.m.

The official Probate source spells out the court's scope.

Grady County court docket Probate Court information

That distinction keeps probate record needs out of a general civil case search. A probate application route can start a license task. But it is not a full Grady County court docket. Estate, will, guardianship, and conservatorship files remain court records held through Probate Court. Name the estate or proceeding as the office directs. Say whether you need a docket, filed paper, order, or certified copy, and ask if any part is restricted. A blank application search does not prove a probate proceeding is absent.

Probate also shows why a countywide name search can mislead. The Superior and State Clerk, the Magistrate office, and the Probate office may each hold civil material. Yet the public access paths stay separate. A broad request for a civil record should include the court class. If the official paper says Probate Court, start with Judge Denise Maddox's office. Skip the Icon login or the circuit calendar. If it says Superior Court, the Clerk route is the right first step.

Record type matters after you find the correct office. A probate docket or event list gives the public procedural history. The petition, inventory, bond, or order behind that list may carry its own access rule. Certification authenticates a copy. It does not open sealed or restricted material. Confirm the current charge and delivery method too, because the Probate page posts no general docket-copy fee.

Timing deserves the same care. Office hours and the license cutoff govern counter service. They are not a promise that any request can be finished in one visit. Call first with the case or estate details. Ask what identification or written request is needed, and learn whether the record is available that day. The Grady County courthouse is not one shared records desk; each court keeps its own files.

City-by-City Court Dockets in Grady County

Grady County has two incorporated cities in the official 2020 Census table. Cairo counted 10,179 residents. Whigham counted 428. Cairo Municipal Court handles city traffic and ordinance cases through the City Clerk, while Whigham Recorder's Court uses its City Hall clerk even though sessions meet at the county courthouse.

A payment screen is not a full docket. Call the city keeper for an official date, docket, or copy, and turn to the county route when a citation names State Court.

Cairo payment instructions set a cutoff at midnight before court. Whigham's notification form asks for contact details plus a citation or license identifier. Neither vendor screen replaces an official city case history.

Grady County Docket Fallback Checklist

Start with paper when a Grady County court docket never shows up online. A summons, citation, receipt, notice, judgment, or order will usually name the court. It often gives the case number too. Keep that case number apart from a traffic citation number and an NCIC code. The systems can talk to each other, yet the identifiers themselves do not swap. Ask the office which one its search actually takes.

Know what you are asking for before you call. A docket printout is just the list of events. A complaint, answer, motion, order, or judgment is a filed document. A certified copy carries the keeper's authentication. A transcript captures what was said out loud and may require a reporter. Each product has its own fee, access limit, and delivery method. A vague request can slow the response down.

Match the contact to the case. Superior, State, and Juvenile questions begin with the Clerk at (229) 377-2912. State Court also lists (229) 762-4000. Magistrate is (229) 377-4132. Probate is (229) 377-4621. Cairo Municipal Court is (229) 377-1722, and Whigham Recorder's Court is (229) 762-4215. Whigham sessions sometimes happen at the county courthouse while its clerk stays at City Hall. The building alone does not say who keeps it.

Before trusting any result, confirm the newest date, public status, fee, and delivery channel. An account prompt, a server error, a missing PDF row, or a failed payment screen may block you. None of that touches the court order. It also does not prove a Grady County docket is sealed or dismissed. The public screen cannot answer every question. A precise call to the keeper is the right fallback.
